How we handle your data — in plain language.
This privacy policy describes how TheAgriGrid collects, uses, and protects personal data of visitors and subscribers. It is written in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India). We aim to keep this short and readable. If anything is unclear, write to editor@theagrigrid.com.
TheAgriGrid is an independent editorial publication operated by Prakhar Singh Baghel, based in India. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, the data fiduciary is the publication operator. To exercise any rights described below, write to editor@theagrigrid.com.
Newsletter subscription. When you subscribe, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you the newsletter and occasional editorial updates. The lawful basis is your consent, which you provide by submitting the form.
Contact form. When you write to us via the contact form, we collect your name, email, and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to you. The lawful basis is your consent.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how readers use the site (which articles are read, how long visitors stay, which pages they enter from). This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. You can opt out by using a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics or by enabling Do Not Track in your browser.
We do not collect financial data, government IDs, or sensitive personal data. We do not require you to create an account to read TheAgriGrid.
We do not sell your data to anyone. We do not share your email or contact form submissions with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not run programmatic advertising that profiles you. We do not use your data to train AI systems.
Newsletter subscriptions are stored with our email service provider (currently Buttondown). Contact form submissions are stored with Formspree. Analytics data is held by Google. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy and security practices.
We retain your newsletter subscription until you unsubscribe, which you can do via the link at the bottom of every newsletter email. We retain contact form submissions for up to 24 months for reference, then delete them. Analytics data is retained per Google Analytics defaults (14 months).
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; withdraw consent at any time; and nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of incapacity. To exercise any of these rights, write to editor@theagrigrid.com. We will respond within 30 days.
We use a small number of cookies, primarily for Google Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies; the site will continue to work normally if you do.
TheAgriGrid is written for an adult professional audience and is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
If we make material changes to how we handle data, we will update this page and, where relevant, notify subscribers by email. The "last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision.
If you have a privacy concern that we have not resolved to your satisfaction, you may also file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act, 2023.
